Sunday 11th May – Saturday 17th May
Christian Aid is 80 years old this year! Founded in 1945 by British and Irish churches to help refugees following the Second World War, it has been fighting poverty and injustice, offering hope to communities who need it most. The charity provides humanitarian relief and long-term development support for poor communities around the world, highlighting suffering, tackling injustice and championing people’s rights. An 80th anniversary special service will be held at Westminster Abbey in June to mark 80 years of Christian Aid, providing an opportunity to reflect, give thanks and renew the organisation’s commitment to justice and hope.
During Christian Aid week there will be three activities held in Bridgend:
Sunday 11th May: - 6.30 p.m. A Joint Christian Aid Service for Bridgend churches - United Church Tuesday, 13th May: 6.30 p.m. Christian Aid Quiz - United Church
