Pray, Give, Serve

As we follow Jesus we have the opportunity to become the people God is calling us to be, a people of prayer, evangelism, hospitality, and generosity. We want to encourage one another to grow in these spiritual gifts as we grow in our relationship with our God.

Pray

The Bible tells us to pray continuously, in all circumstances. We are dependant upon God building his church here in Bridgend and in 2 Chronicles 7v14 we’re told that…

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

You’re invited to join us as we meet every Wednesday in term time at 7:14am to pray as a reminder of this verse.

Doors open at 7:14 for refreshments and prayer is from 7:30am - 8:30am.

Give

Having a chance to give is part of our worship. As followers of Jesus we seek the joy of the Lord, and when we find it we share it. Giving freely is part of our opportunity to seek after joy. It is an act of faith, thanksgiving and love.

Faith, because when we give we put our trust in God to provide for us.

Thanksgiving, because when we give, we thank God for having provided for us in the past and for his promise of future provision.

Love, because when we give, we provide for others.

Serve

Our churches and our Ministry Area only function thanks to the many people that volunteer their time and skills.

Not only does volunteering help keep the church going, but it is a brilliant way to get to know the church family.

There are many ways to volunteer, including working with the treasurer, serving teas and coffees on a Sunday, cleaning, repairs and maintenance, becoming a sidesman or woman on a Sunday, leading worship or helping run our next Alpha course.

If you’re keen to get involved but not sure how to help or where to start, we’d love to have a chat with you,

Come and get involved
