Generous Hearts
Generous hearts have been on display across the Ministry Area over the last few weeks. Not only in our Season of Giving, which has seen many people sign up to support the Ministry Area in new or increased ways, but also in the support we’ve poured out for others. First to note is the incredible coffee mornings we’ve held in so many of our churches. Hundreds and hundreds of pounds have been raised through those activities. Then, last Sunday, at our Harvest Festivals we amassed a stunning quantity of food produce to give to the Food Bank, benefitting those in our community who need the most support.
Generosity, along with prayer, evangelism, and hospitality will be the ways that we grow our community evermore into its vocation as the church.
In the coming months we will be thinking more and more about how we can be a people of prayer, evangelism, hospitality, generosity. Especially as, over the coming months, we will see lots of people through our doors who wouldn’t normally come. Perhaps it will be at Remembrance, or Christmas, but whatever the occasion, we have the opportunity to invite them to journey further in their faith. Perhaps by inviting a visitor to join one of our church choirs, or to bring their children to Sunday Club, or by inviting them to come along with you to Alpha when it begins on Monday 13th January.
Alpha will always begin with a simple supper at 7pm, followed by a video-led discussion. Alpha facilitates conversations about faith in a welcoming environment. You can sign up now – but crucially, think about who you can invite, and begin to pray for them.
