Bell Ringers
Coity Bell Ringers
Coity Church has 6 bells nearly 300 years old. They are easy to ring and ideal for beginners. The bells are well maintained and clean, easily accessible tower with the ringing chamber on the first floor, reached by a straight staircase.
We ring on Sunday mornings for 9:30am service and when required. We ring for weddings at Coity church and other special services.
The Coity band of ringers practice every Wednesday at 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
We now need more bell ringers to join us.
If anyone has rung church bells before and would like to revive their ringing career, we will be glad to see you.
Also, anyone over the age of 12 years old and would like to learn. We can train learners at our Wednesday evening practice.
You do not need to be a church member or a resident of Coity parish. You do not need any musical knowledge or an ability to read music.
We welcome people who are willing to learn and be part of a team in an ancient, rewarding and enjoyable hobby. The only criteria is to be reasonably fit and able to walk up and down stairs.
Come and give it a go!
